We all stay !
On March 2nd, a demonstration for the preservation of several selforganized projects will take place in various districts of Berlin. Liebig34, Potse/Drugstore, G17a, Meuterei and Syndikat are currently threatened by evictions. These projects have been a significant part of Berlin culture, most of them for decades. We take a stand against their impending evictions!
There are a lot of reasons to take to the streets in Neukölln, as well. All renters have known for a long time: with average rent prices increasing by over 100% during the last 10 years, Neukölln has unfortunately become a very attractive place for investment and speculation for property owners from all over the world. More and more anonymous shell corporations have taken over our houses. The threat to Syndikat means for us the potential disappearance of an old part of our daily life. We all remember the fight for the Kiezladen Friedel54 and its violent eviction well. We won’t take it, so we get together to defend ourselves against these evictions. Any eviction is one too many!
In Neukölln there is luckily a diverse landscape of house projects, collective enterprises, gardens and uncommercially usable places. The collective bars Tristeza, Syndikat and K-Fetisch, the neighbourhood gardens on Tempelhofer Feld and the Prachttomate, the selforganized homes at Richardplatz8 and Braunschweiger Straße 53-55, as well as lots of small places and projects create a special feeling in our neighbourhood. Groups like SoZe44, the info points f.a.q and Lunte, as well as Solidarische Aktion support and create new (emancipatory) perspectives. Berlin Migrant Strikers and Corasol fight the ongoing racism of our society with their solidary stance. And we could name many more.
Conscious of our diversity and of our various struggles, we will take the streets together. Because a threat to any of these projects, like currently Syndikat, poses a threat to all of us.
In this spirit: let’s go and demonstrate in every district! For an uncommercial city for all! For a resistant, loud and colorfulNeukölln!
Start: Sat. March 2nd, 3 pm at Herrfurthplatz
Final rally: 5 pm on Lausitzer Platz with concert
